EMERCOR Product Care Guide

EMERCOR stands for quality and that is why we stand behind our products and services. By following the 22 Point Product Care Guide below, our clients are able to ensure the safety and longevity of our products. EMERCOR panels have been tested to determine their physical capabilities. Independent registered professional engineers have prepared load tables for use in the review and approval of EMERCOR panels on each project.

  1. Handle all panels with care
  2. Provide adequate and even support for panels when storing.
  3. Ensure all panels are stored in a flat position and are well covered.
  4. When working in cold weather, ensure panel adhesives and sealant foams are stored in a warm area for best application results.
  5. Place adhesive along the leading edge of wood being inset into panel.
  6. Panel adhesive is to be used for wood-to-wood connections only.
  7. Sealant foam is to be used on wood-to-wood, wood-to-foam, and foam-to-foam connections.
  8. Ensure level and square foundations or floors are provided to support all wall panels.
  9. Hold sill plate back from edge of rim board 7/16" to allow for exterior skin of panel.
  10. Provide 1" diameter access holes in plating to align with electrical wire chases in panels.
  11. Adequate bracing of all panels must be provided when erecting.
  12. Remove debris from plate area prior to adhesive/sealant and panel placement.
  13. Do NOT drop or rest panels on corners.
  14. Do NOT tilt panels on drywall edge.
  15. Do NOT lift panels by top skin.
  16. Do NOT over-cut skins for field-cut openings.
  17. Do NOT cut skins for electrical or plumbing chases.
  18. Foam all penetrations in panels, including electrical boxes.
  19. Eye and respiratory protection must be worn at all time when cutting or trimming panels
  20. Do NOT put plumbing in panels without consulting panel manufacturer
  21. For proper ventilation and indoor air control design consult your HVAC professional, or building department for local code.
  22. Read all shop drawings and fully understand all details prior to erecting panels. If you have any questions, contact an EMERCOR Ltd professional.
