2004 Camrose Habitat for Humanity

On August 29th, 2005, EMERCOR joined hands for the second year in a row with the Camrose Habitat for Humanity team. In celebration of the Camrose Habitat for Humanity’s 10th Anniversary Celebration, EMERCOR in partnership with BASF, became a Gold Level Sponsor, donating over $15,000 to the project. The EMERCOR team was onsite with the Habitat for Humanity volunteers and homeowners to build the home.

EMERCOR was first introduced to Habitat for Humanity by Al Anderson, a Habitat for Humanity Project Leader who built his own home using EMERCOR products. Realizing the energy savings in his own home, Al championed to build the next Habitat for Humanity home with EMERCOR.

“Over the last few years, we have noticed that rising energy costs of Habitat homes are turning out to be the most expensive cost for these families. By addressing energy efficiency and choosing alternative building materials like the EMERCOR system, we are now able to provide not only home ownership but truly a long-term solution,” said Al Anderson.

The Habitat for Humanity team quickly recognized the benefits of the EMERCOR family of products for both its volunteers and homeowners. The ease of installation, coupled with the energy efficiency, cost savings, and comfortable, healthy home made EMERCOR products an ideal fit for the organization. With just a brief introduction to the installation process, Habitat for Humanity volunteers quickly became installation experts allowing the Habitat team to deploy its volunteers to other areas of the home. Installation time was significantly reduced compared to conventional construction, an essential benefit where skilled labor shortages exist. As a result, the Habitat for Humanity in Camrose has expanded it use of EMERCOR products to include the Insulated Rimboard and Foundation Panels to assure the building envelope is well insulated and sealed.

While Habitat for Humanity provides home ownership to families in need, EMERCOR assists by ensuring the homeowners can afford to live in their new home. EMERCOR firmly believes in empowering builders and homeowners to create sustainable housing solutions to create a positive impact in their lives and their environment.
